Style

Our writing style has evolved over the years but the basic structure is still the same as it's always been. Generally, Scott will block out a rough story line and then I'll go through it and flush out the characters and the visuals within each scene.

We meet frequently to "get in sync" by talking through the story, what the characters are thinking and doing and why certain things just do or don't work.

Basically, Scott's an idiot and without me to clean up after him, he'd most probably be institutionalized right now drooling into a cup a hot Cream of Wheat crying to some young intern to wipe his ass and brush his teeth.

Genre

Since Marie and I both have technical backgrounds, we've naturally gravitated toward the use of technology in our stories.

But, our stories are not about technology. They are about people and the things that happen to them. Our style is built on elements from action, thriller and science fiction genres.

We pay close attention to detail; or at least I do--Marie's kind of thick--and make every effort to weave stories that are onion-like in nature. On the surface, entertaining and easy to read, but with buried plot lines and subtle psychological inroads.

Our target audience is anyone that enjoys reading Koontz, King or Crichton.
